*Empirical Health's 100+ counts 85 lab results from one draw, alongside two heart-attack risk estimates, nine dietary metrics, and four app scores. Mito Health's counts are per curated panel on a single draw, and each panel is bought separately. Comparison based on publicly available information as of October 30, 2026.

Key takeaway:

Empirical Health ($190 one-time) focuses on cardiovascular health: one panel of 100+ biomarkers, ApoB and Lp(a) among them, plus a physician-interpreted report. Mito Health ($99/yr) is a membership that prices a 1,000+ test catalog at cost, with each test bought on its own. If you want your testing, your plan, and your next steps under one roof instead of a heart panel or a pay-per-test catalog, Superpower ($199/yr) goes beyond biomarker testing to be a true home for health. One draw of 100+ biomarkers is built in, wearables connect directly, and a member marketplace sits beside Superpower AI.

What is Empirical Health, and what is Mito Health?

Empirical Health is built around one organ. Its pitch is a heart panel with a lifetime risk estimate, custom nutrition and exercise plans, and doctors behind the results.

Mito Health is built around one price rule: members pay Mito's cost for a test, plus the lab's ordering fees. Its homepage promises "transparent prices so you never overpay" and a clinician-reviewed plan on top.

They differ on who picks the tests, and on what happens when a plan calls for medication.

What does Empirical Health include?

A single payment of $190 buys the comprehensive panel, in-app risk scores, and access to Empirical Pro for tracking trends over time.

The brand's homepage describes three steps:

  1. Measure — Visit one of 2,200 testing sites to check 100+ biomarkers, among them ApoB, Lp(a), and cholesterol.
  2. Predict — Watch your lifetime heart risk change as you adjust lifestyle inputs.
  3. Prevent — Receive a personal nutrition plan and exercise routine.

Most results land in 3-5 business days, and the full set fills in over 2-3 weeks. The Advanced Heart Health program costs $399 for 12 months and adds repeat testing at 3 and 9 months, along with a doctor video visit.

What does Mito Health include?

Joining Mito costs $99 for the year, or $9 monthly. That fee sets every test at member rates and brings a clinician-reviewed plan, biological age tracking, and Concierge, an assistant that is partly automated and partly staffed. The tests themselves are extra.

Mito's how-it-works page lays out five steps:

  1. Choose and order your tests — Pick from the catalog at member pricing.
  2. Fill in your health profile — Add your concerns, habits, family history, and earlier lab reports.
  3. Provide your sample — Go to a partner lab, request a home draw, or mail back a kit.
  4. Get clinician-reviewed results — Insights land in your dashboard.
  5. Retest with focus — Order targeted panels based on what changed.

A live 1:1 consult is optional, at $39 per 30 minutes for members. Supplements and prescriptions are not offered yet.

What biomarkers do Empirical Health and Mito Health measure in 2026?

Mito's Core panel lists more lab biomarkers per draw than Empirical's panel, while Empirical's panel is the only one aimed at a single organ system. Mito sells four curated panels: Essential at 117 biomarkers, Core at 139, Pro at 167, and Ultra at 182. Core's 139 includes Prolactin, tested only for women, and PSA, tested only for men, so each member's Core draw covers 138.

The table uses Mito Core, which Mito calls its most popular panel. Both columns include urinalysis and count calculated values.

Empirical HealthMito Health (Core panel)

Follow-up drawRepeat testing at 3 and 9 months, Advanced program onlyTargeted panels chosen and bought separately
Headline count100+ biomarkers on one draw117 to 182 biomarkers per curated panel

Empirical's list also includes two heart-attack risk estimates, nine dietary metrics, and four app scores, which is how it reaches 100.

Mito's catalog extends well past blood work:

  • Curated panels — Ultra adds the Galleri multi-cancer test and an at-home gut health test.
  • Scans and fitness tests — DEXA body composition and bone density, coronary artery calcium, VO2 max, and Prenuvo whole-body MRI in select locations.
  • At-home kits — Seven self-collection blood kits, whole genome sequencing, gut microbiome analysis, and H. pylori breath testing.

What are the official 2026 membership prices for Empirical Health and Mito Health?

Empirical Health costs $190 once for the panel, or $399 for the Advanced program. Mito Health's membership is $99 on an annual bill or $9 monthly, and each test is added on top.

For members, Essential costs $89.60, Core $197.59, Pro $323.88, and Ultra $1,503.45. They are the lowest figures Mito lists, drawn at one partner lab that tacks on $15 per visit.

Add the $99 membership to a $197.59 Core panel and a $15 draw fee, and one draw comes to $311.59 for the year. A second draw on Essential costs another $104.60, for $416.19. Empirical's $190 covers one draw, and its $399 program adds the repeat tests at 3 and 9 months.

In New York and New Jersey, Empirical adds a $99 lab fee, for $289 in total. Mito builds state fees into each test's price, raising prices by about 133%, so Core costs $463.61 for members there.

Both are HSA/FSA eligible.

Prescriptions: a doctor visit at one, a plan at the other

Empirical Health ties prescribing to the doctor video visit in its $399 program, where the doctor reviews results, builds a care plan, and can discuss prescriptions or referrals. Its medical services reach people in over 30 states.

Mito Health does not offer prescriptions today. Its manifesto says "supplements and prescriptions are coming soon, priced the same way," which makes them a plan and not yet a product.

For someone whose results are likely to point toward medication, that difference decides the question before price does.

Who reviews your results

Empirical's physician-interpreted report arrives with results, and members can message doctors in the app.

Mito says a clinician reviews every result before the plan is final. Mito Concierge answers member questions, and passes a question to the care team by text once it needs a clinician. A consult is education, not medical advice.

Mito's results typically take 7 to 10 days after the lab visit, followed by the care team review about two weeks later. Empirical says most results arrive in 3-5 business days.

A set heart panel or a build-your-own catalog

Empirical Health decides the panel for you and puts its depth in heart markers. Mito Health hands you the catalog, and Concierge can build a custom panel from it.

Mito is the closer match for someone who already knows which tests they want, and Empirical suits someone who wants a heart-specific read without browsing 1,000+ options. Biological age tracking is included with Mito, and Empirical does not offer a score.

Where are Empirical Health and Mito Health tests available?

Empirical Health lists 2,200+ locations for draws, with a different lab partner in New York and New Jersey. Its medical services are limited to over 30 states, though the app works anywhere.

Mito Health shows partner labs in 47 states and Washington, D.C., none in Hawaii, North Dakota, or Rhode Island. Its at-home blood draw costs a flat $99 and reaches 35 states, while at-home kits ship to all 50.

Who is Empirical Health best for, and who is Mito Health best for?

Empirical Health is best for:

  • People focused on heart health who want ApoB and Lp(a) in a one-time panel.
  • People who want a doctor available for prescriptions or referrals.
  • People who want one set price with no per-test charges.

Mito Health is best for:

  • People who already know their tests and prefer at-cost pricing.
  • People who want a wide catalog of scans, kits, and panels in one account.

The bottom line

Empirical Health gives you a focused heart read and a path to a doctor. Mito Health gives you control over what to test and what you pay for each result.

Both models leave the follow-through outside the price. Empirical's $190 covers one draw, and Mito's $99 membership covers no tests at all, with a Core panel at $197.59. Neither one runs a supplement marketplace today.

Superpower's $199 a year in most states includes one draw of 100+ biomarkers and the action plan. That is below the $311.59 that a Mito year with one Core draw comes to, while Empirical's panel costs $190 once. Mito Core tests more per draw, 138 biomarkers, so the difference is the year after it. Your results, wearable data, and medical records feed one Superpower AI. It builds your Superpower Protocol and keeps coaching you as data arrives, with supplements at up to 20% off in the marketplace, and prescriptions are available there when clinically appropriate, priced separately. Superpower says 93% of members found their action plan more useful, even life-changing, than a yearly checkup.

Blood work is where a health plan starts, not where it ends. Build your home for health with Superpower today.

How does the Superpower membership work?

We test 100+ biomarkers from a single blood draw each year. Your baseline test paints a comprehensive picture of your health, and your dashboard shows what’s working, what needs attention, and what to do next. Superpower AI and your care team help you take action across lifestyle, supplements, and treatments.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel anytime, no fees. Your membership stays active through the end of your paid year.

How often should I test?

Your membership includes two blood tests per year: one to establish your baseline, and one to see whether your plan improved biomarkers that were out of range or not yet optimized. You can add other diagnostics anytime through the app or with help from your care team.

When will I get my results?

Book your draw at any of 2,000+ partner labs or at-home. Results are typically ready in about a week and land in the Superpower app.
