TB‑500 is an investigational peptide related to thymosin beta-4, a peptide involved in cell movement and tissue-repair processes. Its potential role in recovery is being explored, but its safety and effectiveness in humans have not been established.
Superpower’s current program considers people with a specific musculoskeletal injury or tissue-related concern that can be assessed over time. Your clinician will review the problem, your previous care and a measurable goal, such as improving comfort or everyday movement. Whether TB‑500 is prescribed depends on your individual clinical assessment.
They are different peptides, and there isn’t enough comparative human research to say one is better for a particular injury. Your clinician will start with your diagnosis, your goals and established treatment options before considering whether either is appropriate. Anecdotally, BPC‑157 is leveraged for site specific injuries, while TB‑500 is for general recovery and inflammation.
Not necessarily. Products described as TB‑500 or thymosin beta-4 can differ in their peptide structure and formulation. Findings from one version don’t automatically establish the benefits or safety of another, so the exact product matters when discussing the research.
No. Superpower’s initial TB‑500 offering is a standalone product. A combined BPC‑157/TB‑500 blend is not part of the initial lineup. Using the two products together requires a specific clinical assessment and prescribing instructions. Speak with your clinician before considering a combination.
TB‑500 is a twice weekly subcutaneous injection, approximately 3-4 days apart. Your clinician will confirm your exact dose and timing when they review your intake and medical history. The optimal dose and schedule have not been established in human studies. Follow your prescription without adding a loading phase, increasing the frequency or taking extra doses.
Under the current protocol, TB‑500 isn’t offered during pregnancy, breastfeeding or while trying to conceive. Other exclusions include active or suspected cancer, certain previous cancer histories, serious allergies to the product or its ingredients, and athletes whose use would conflict with anti-doping rules. The protocol also excludes people taking anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications, using systemic steroids or who have had recent steroid injections. Share your full medical and medication history with your clinician. Please don’t stop a prescribed medication to become eligible.
Your care team will monitor for injection-site reactions, fatigue or flu-like symptoms, headache, dizziness and nausea. How often these symptoms occur, and whether they are caused by TB‑500, remains uncertain. The full safety profile, including longer-term risks, is not yet known. Let your care team know promptly about new lumps, unusual bleeding or other concerning changes. Seek emergency care for signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the throat.
Your clinician will set a reassessment point before you start. The proposed plan includes monthly response and safety check-ins, with a more detailed review around 12 weeks. Your clinician may recommend stopping if you aren’t seeing meaningful improvement or if safety concerns arise.
TB‑500 is $149 per month.
