How Superpower works

A test tube with an orange cap labeled "Superpower Blood Panel."

Test 100+ markers

One blood draw tests TSH, Free T3, Free T4, reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies (TPO and thyroglobulin). TSH alone is a screening tool - the full panel is a diagnostic tool. Plus 100+ other biomarkers. $199/year.

Clear results

Standard lab ranges consider TSH up to 4.0 or even 4.5 'normal.' But optimal is 0.5-2.5. A TSH of 3.5 with low Free T3 and elevated antibodies is not normal - it's early autoimmune thyroid disease that will get worse without intervention.

Personalized plan

TSH is a pituitary hormone, not a thyroid hormone. It tells you what your brain is asking for, not what your cells are getting. Free T3 is the active hormone. Reverse T3 blocks it. You need both to understand thyroid function.

Answers 24/7

Our care team explains your TSH in context with your full panel. A 'normal' TSH with abnormal Free T3 or antibodies means something entirely different than a truly healthy thyroid. Results in ~10 days.

I've always eaten really healthy and had a healthy lifestyle... a bunch of my labs came back really wonky.

What’s the difference between testing plans?

The Superpower Baseline Panel is already comprehensive.
It covers 10 times more biomarkers than a typical annual physical.

The Advanced Panel is designed to go deeper, with three scenarios in particular.

  • Uncovering risks that don’t show up in standard labs
Markers like Lp(a), LDL lipoprotein fractionation help identify cardiovascular risk even when cholesterol looks normal.
  • Know what drives energy, metabolism and hormones
Tests like insulin, IGF-1, thyroid antibodies, and inflammatory markers explain symptoms that basic hormone tests can’t.
  • Reveal deeper patterns
Inflammation, autoimmunity, and nutrient markers (e.g. homocysteine, ESR, thyroid antibodies) can show what’s driving long-term health trends.

Individuals with family history of heart disease, unresolved symptoms, or a desire to understand inflammation and hormone health especially benefit from testing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How it works
What is a normal TSH level?

Standard lab ranges put normal TSH at 0.4-4.0 mIU/L, but many endocrinologists consider optimal TSH to be 0.5-2.5 mIU/L. A TSH above 2.5 with symptoms may indicate early thyroid dysfunction. Below 0.4 suggests hyperthyroidism. However, TSH alone doesn't tell the full story - Free T3, Free T4, and thyroid antibodies are needed for a complete assessment.

What does a high TSH level mean?

High TSH means your pituitary gland is working harder to stimulate your thyroid because thyroid hormone production is low. TSH of 4.0-10.0 is subclinical hypothyroidism. Above 10.0 is overt hypothyroidism. But TSH can be 'normal' at 3.5 while you still feel terrible - Free T3 and antibodies may reveal the problem TSH doesn't show.

Can TSH levels fluctuate?

Yes - TSH fluctuates throughout the day (highest in early morning, lowest in afternoon), with illness, stress, certain medications (biotin, steroids), and during pregnancy. This is why a single TSH reading isn't always reliable and why testing the full thyroid panel provides more stable, actionable information. Tracking TSH trends over time is more valuable than any single reading.

How does Superpower testing work?

Sign up for membership, schedule a blood draw at a local lab or add at-home phlebotomist visit for $99. We test 90+ biomarkers from one draw, and you get results with personalized insights in about 10 days.

How accurate are the results?

All samples are processed at CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited laboratories - the same labs used by major health systems. Our biomarker analysis meets the highest clinical standards.

What should I expect during a blood draw?
  • A trained phlebotomist will guide you through the process.
  • A tourniquet is placed on your arm, the site is cleaned, and a small needle is used to collect blood into one or more tubes.
  • Results are usually ready in about a week.
  • Most people feel only a quick pinch.
  • The needle is removed, gentle pressure is applied, and a bandage is placed.
How do I prepare for a blood draw?
  • Drink plenty of water beforehand — hydration makes veins easier to find.
  • Wear loose sleeves so your arm is easy to access.
  • Follow any fasting instructions you’ve been given.
  • Let us know if you’re on medications, have fainted before, or have needle anxiety.
What should I do after my blood draw?
  • Press gently on the site for a few minutes.
  • Keep the bandage on for 4-6 hours.
  • Skip heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for the rest of the day.
  • Drink extra water to rehydrate.
  • Monitor the site for redness, swelling, or pain.
How do I book a blood draw with Superpower?

Your membership includes:

Does Superpower replace my primary care provider?

Superpower specializes in prevention-based testing and treatments and is not intended for emergency or immediate health issues.

While you will have a Superpower care team, your annual membership is designed to complement a primary care doctor if you have one, not replace them.

We are happy to help you share any test results with an outside provider to ensure you receive well-rounded medical care.

How fast are blood test results and how do I read them?

Your annual lab test panel takes about a week to process. We will text you as soon as they become available in your dashboard. Other types of tests may have different testing windows. The Superpower concierge is your own health assistant who helps answer your questions on your results, ensure smooth scheduling, coordination of any office-based tests, specialist referrals as needed, and navigating you to interface with your care team.

Does Superpower accept health insurance?

Superpower membership and products are all eligible for HSA/FSA funding.

We see Superpower like a gym membership for those committed to prevention and performance. Superpower is a bridge between wellness and healthcare. Health insurance traditionally focuses on reactive care whereas, at Superpower, we believe it’s never too early to start looking out for your long-term health.

What if I want more than 1 blood test per year?

Absolutely — you're not limited to just one. Your membership includes one comprehensive 100+ biomarker blood test each year, but if you'd like to track your progress more closely, you can add extra tests at any time. Each additional full-panel test costs $179. You can order as many as you'd like throughout the year.

Health is your
greatest superpower. It’s time to unlock it.
